At Weaver Green, they transform discarded plastic bottles into beautiful, practical textiles. Weaver Green's journey began when founders Tasha and Barney, with backgrounds in organic drinks and flooring, were inspired by a fishing rope made from plastic bottles during their travels in Asia and this moment sparked the idea of converting plastic waste into a practical yarns. Barney's expertise in textiles and Tasha's design and environmental ethos combined to address the issue of the 35 billion plastic bottles discarded yearly. Their goal was to create a textile that looked and felt like wool but was machine washable, stain-resistant, environmentally friendly, and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. After seven years of research and development, they perfected a process to turn hard plastic into soft, wool-like fibres. Today, from their Devonshire home, Tasha, Barney, and their team offer a wide range of stylish, sustainable products. They continually improve their sustainability practices, ensuring a positive environmental impact. All their textiles are hand-loomed, with artisans in Europe and Asia paid fairly and working safely.
