Weaver Green Diamond Chinchilla Blanket

These new and improved oyster-coloured blankets feature the same classic weave as Weaver Green's best-selling blanket range but with a new, lighter more refined weight and an extra 20cm in length. Made from approximately 300 recycled plastic bottles, these new larger blankets are soft and cozy like wool, machine washable, stain resistant, and can be used all around the home and outdoors too.

Weaver Green's journey began when founders Tasha and Barney, with backgrounds in organic drinks and flooring, were inspired by a fishing rope made from plastic bottles during their travels in Asia and this moment sparked the idea of converting plastic waste into a practical yarns. Barney's expertise in textiles and Tasha's design and environmental ethos combined to address the issue of the 35 billion plastic bottles discarded yearly. Their goal was to create a textile that looked and felt like wool but was machine washable, stain-resistant, environmentally friendly, and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. After seven years of research and development, they perfected a process to turn hard plastic into soft, wool-like fibres. Today, from their Devonshire home, Tasha, Barney, and their team offer a wide range of stylish, sustainable products. They continually improve their sustainability practices, ensuring a positive environmental impact. All their textiles are hand-loomed, with artisans in Europe and Asia paid fairly and working safely.
